that when I install the 8psi pulley to set the static fuel pres at 50psi static. is this true?? It sounds a little fishy to me???? I am at 45 psi w/map mod and BTC and Water inj. the problem I have with this is 20% faster or more boost= 20% or more fuel. How is this true???

Who did you talk to at JR ???
It is in fact true that you can in some cases reduce static fuel pressures by maybe TWO psi, but not TEN !!!
Unless there is some new development that has not been shared with me (and I talk to JR almost daily), I would say there is some confusion.

BTW, if you happen to try that low static fuel pressure setting...
Keep one eye on the road and the other eye glued to your A/F gauge... and back out of the throttle at the first sign of trouble.

Jim,
I will almost never side with JR but I think they are right on this one. Here's my reasoning. If you are boosting 6 psi you will need approximately 40% more fuel than you would if you were NA(14.7+6/14.7). Now if you're running 8 psi you would need 54% more fuel for a difference of 14% more fuel to go from 6 to 8psi.
Since he was running 45psi of fuel pressure, 14% more fuel would be 51psi of fuel. This would be a 6psi of fuel pressure increase which seems reasonable.
Am I correct in my calculations Jim or is it passed my bedtime?

I can see where Jackson is coming from too. With the JR FMU and stock injectors the only way to get more fuel is to raise the static FP. Sounds like Jackson is just covering their bases making sure he doesn't lean out with the new pully.
I don't know what car this is on though because stock static for a GSR is 52 anyway.

Shawn Carlberg is the person who told me.
The pressure might, and probably won't need to, but might need to come up
3-4 psi.

Hey I got the pulley and belts. The pulley is a very nice looking piece BTW.
Now my question is wht do I set the static fuel pressure at. I am at 45 PSI
static right now with the map mod and all the other goodies you sell. So now
where do I set it at?????????? thanks Jon Burhans
As far as what car it is for its a 99Si.
So with all that said I shold set the static fuel pressure at 50psi. Thanks guys

I believe the miscommunication here is that you have to be talking the same pressures. You stated 50 psi static (static means the fuel pressure is gauged with the vaccuum line disconnected to allow the diaphragm inside the regulator to rest at ZERO boost), whereas I am assuming that you are talking idle (measured at gauge while car is idling with the vaccuum line connected) pressure when you stated that yours was set to 45 psi. The factory setting from JR on a GSR kit is 60 psi, so I am sure that you would not intentionally be running 25% LESS fuel than they recommend. The only way you could safely run a static 45 psi baseline pressure is if you are using larger injectors... is this the case ???

Yes Marc...
It is WAY past your bedtime. I agree with you that he would need MORE fuel to properly/safely run MORE boost... however, he stated that he was told to run 10 psi LESS static fuel pressure than a stock 6 psi kit is delivered with... and that simply cannot be correct unless he has larger injectors.
This was not clarified in his original post.

Shawn also told me to lower it to 45-50 psi static with the MAP converter. No pinging at all and I'm running the same richness at WOT if not a tad richer.
